Design Guideline Revisions 2019

Earlier this year, Brambleton’s Board of Directors directed the Covenants Committee to provide recommendations for revisions to the Design Guidelines for Brambleton. It is a recommended best practice to review the guidelines every three to five years to ensure they reflect the original vision of the Developer and the community as a whole. The guidelines must also be updated to reflect industry advancements in upgraded building materials available, especially materials that offer low maintenance options, and provide improved durability and curb appeal.

Throughout 2019, the Covenants Committee held numerous work sessions to produce a draft revision of the Design Guidelines. The Committee and BCA staff have worked very hard to clarify and update the guidelines in order to reflect the community’s design standards and incorporate existing architectural requirements for new areas of the community. The ultimate goal is to create a user-friendly and useful tool for residents and Committee members to reference.

On August 6, 2019, the Board of Directors reviewed the draft changes to the Design Guidelines proposed by the Covenants Committee. The Board has approved the draft design revisions to be sent to the community via email blast for review and public input for a period of thirty (30) days. The draft design revisions are posted on this page under Related Documents. They can also be viewed here. Community suggestions can be submitted to bcacomments@brambleton.org. All suggestions will be reviewed and evaluated at the Covenants Committee meeting on September 9, 2019, beginning at 7 PM. A final decision by the Board on the adoption of the revised guidelines is expected to take place in October 2019.
