- Summer is such an active time of the year and with kids on break, what better activity is there than summer camp? Brambleton hosts a variety of camps including Overtime Athletics Sports Camp, Drama Camp and Art Camp. Check out the descriptions below and sign up before they fill up!
ABRAKADOODLE
Abrakadoodle believes in hands-on, active discovery and exploration in our art classes for kids. This encourages a love of art, learning and innovation! Abrakadoodle embraces “process art”, which simply means that kids learn best as they explore art materials and the creative process of taking ideas from within and bringing them into existence.
Full Day, ages 5-12 - 9:00am - 3:00pm

ENGINEERING FOR KIDS

Junior Engineering of Power and Energy (Ages 5-7)
July 17th-July 21 Partial Day 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Join this camp as we look at ways to get things moving...no batteries required. In this camp, students explore the foundational concepts of potential and kinetic energy by building their very own toys. Additionally, students will explore natural power and energy sources such as falling water and the sun. Get ready for a shock in this energetic and engaging engineering experience!
Apprentice Engineering of Power and Energy (Ages 8-12)
July 17th-July 21 Partial Day 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Power and energy are what everything requires moving, turning on, light up, and making noise. In The Engineering of Power and Energy camp, students will break up into engineering teams and help each other to create unique ways to harness, manipulate, and use energy efficiently. Each day, students will have the chance to add a power-up light to their power and energy meter by completing that day’s

Junior Robotics- WEDO: Amazing Mechanism - (Ages 5-7)
July 24 – July 28 Partial Day 9:00am-12:00pm
This camp is a perfect mixture of fun and learning, using LEGO® WeDo™ Robots. Using LEGO® bricks, where students explore levers, pulley, and gears, as they build and program dancing birds, spinner and kicker, among others and learn the importance of teamwork.
Apprentice Electronic Game Design: Platform Games (Ages 8-12)
July 24 – July 28 Partial Day 1:00pm-4:00pm
During our Electronic Game Design: Platform camp, students will use Clickteam Fusion 2.5® to create their own video game. A platform game is a side-scrolling, Mario-type game where students program characters and a two-dimensional obstacle course. They attempt to collaborate to avoid or overcome enemies and reach an end goal on multiple levels. At the end of the program, everyone takes home a working Windows-compatible game (Clickteam Fusion 2.5® does not support Mac or Android operating systems).

Magnus chess camps are made for everyone! We've taught more than 100,000 kids of all skill levels, from beginners learning the rules up to state and national champions.
Campers are broken up in groups by skill level for lessons that range from the basic rules to master games, openings, endgames, and tactics. Students will build upon their skills by playing practice games against other students. At the end of the week, each camper will receive a t-shirt and their very own chess set!
Students will take breaks for fresh air throughout the day. All equipment is provided.
