BCA SPOTLIGHT

Guardians of Education 5k & Super-Hero Fun Run Come out for the inaugural Guardians of Education 5k & Super-Hero Fun Run on Saturday, October 19th in the Brambleton Town Center! Celebrate police officers, fire fighters, teachers, doctors, and everyone else who help make our community safe and strong. Proceeds from this race will be given to educational scholarship funds.   • Course signs will be placed along the race route in advance of the event. Please be advised that there may be some delays from 8 to 10 AM as police and course marshals allow runners to safely pass by.

Neighborhood Block Party Brambleton’s first community-wide Neighborhood Block Party will take place on Saturday, October 19th from 4 to 11 PM! Several block parties will be taking place next weekend all around the community. This is a wonderful opportunity to get to know your neighbors better, create a greater sense of community, and build a safer neighborhood. BCA Director Election in Progress - The 2019 BCA Election to fill three open positions on the Board of Directors is open for online voting until 5 PM on Friday, November 8th. The Association encourages all residents to view the candidate information and vote online. Candidate profiles are posted on our website and will also be mailed to residents next week. Online voting occurs through Balloteer, a third party secure online voting contractor. Register here to vote.

  • Registration note: Please check to make sure that spam filters/email security software will allow you to receive e-mail from Brambleton@Balloteer.com. The secure Voter ID will be emailed immediately to you upon successful registration.
  • Meet the Candidates: You’re invited to meet the candidates at an informal Meet & Greet to be held on Wednesday, October 30th from 6:30 to 8 PM in the Welcome Center at the Brambleton Town Center (42395 Ryan Rd, Suite 100). Drop in anytime during the event to meet each of the candidates and to learn more about their goals for serving the community.
  • Save the Date for BCA’s Annual Meeting: The Association will host its Annual Meeting on Tuesday, November 12th at 7 PM at the Brambleton Corner Clubhouse (sign-in begins at 6:30 PM). The purpose of this Annual Meeting is to elect three BCA directors, share Association and community information, and to provide an opportunity after the meeting for residents to ask specific questions of the Association. The Annual Meeting is also a great opportunity for you to meet the current Board members, Association staff, and your neighbors. Notice of the Annual Meeting will be mailed to all owners next week and will also include a draft agenda, proxy, instructions for voting, and profiles for each of the candidates. If you have questions or need assistance to participate in the meeting, please contact hoa@brambleton.org.

2020 Proposed Budget and Assessments - The BCA Board of Directors will meet on Tuesday, October 22nd to discuss the 2020 budget and assessments. The proposed budget can be found here and on our website at www.brambletonhoa.com/budget. All questions related to the budget can be emailed to rick.stone@brambleton.org.

Verizon Letter Sent to Brambleton Residents (Dated October 8, 2019) - Verizon has sent a letter via US Mail to all Brambleton residents regarding the implementation of a new pricing structure for Fios set-top box rentals. This notice did not mention the reason for the pricing change. Please take note that this pricing structure is temporary and necessary as part of the final transition stages for the Brambleton community bulk Fios program. Read our special message here for more information.

Weed Control & Fertilizer Application - The Association’s grounds maintenance contractor will begin performing applications of weed control and fertilizer starting on Monday, October 28th. It will take approximately two weeks to treat the entire community. Weather can impact this schedule. Please contact operations@brambleton.org if you have questions, need more information, or would like to opt out of the service (townhome grounds maintenance program only).


BCA EVENTS & PROGRAMMING


Nationals Watch Parties - Come hang with your neighbors and BCA staff to watch the Washington Nationals in the World Series at the Corner Clubhouse! Hot dogs, nachos, and Lost Rhino beer will be provided. Admission is free, but a donation of a new/gently used coat for the Women Giving Back coat drive is suggested. Brambleton residents only. Pictures with Santa - Pictures with Santa will take place this year on November 8-10! Online registration opens at approximately 9 AM on Friday, October 25th. Click here for more details.

School’s Out Day Camps - Registration is open for school's out day camps being held on Monday, October 28th and November 4-5. Register for a full-day camp with Overtime Athletics or Drama Kids, enjoy a half-day (11/4 only) of STEM using LEGO materials with Play-Well TEKnologies (ages 5-6 and ages 7-12), or hit the courts for a half-day of tennis with Luis Rosado Tennis Academy. Fostering a Healthy Foundation: Family Nutrition Workshop - We are excited to introduce a Family Nutrition Workshop with Brambleton resident Emily Szajda on Sunday, November 3rd from 1 to 3 PM at the Community Center. Boost kids' interest in nutrition through a hands-on workshop preparing healthy snacks that can also serve as hors d'oeuvres at your next holiday party. COMMUNITY STANDARDS

Exterior Lighting Inspections Scheduled - Brambleton residents are responsible for ensuring the proper operation of exterior lighting fixtures which are designed to function automatically. BCA staff conducts quarterly inspections of proper operation of carriage lights, garage lights, and builder-installed landscape lights which should operate from dusk until dawn. These inspections will begin on Thursday, October 24th. More information on maintaining the functioning of exterior lights can be found on our website. How to Report Public Street Light Outages - BCA conducts quarterly light inspections; however, residents are encouraged to report street light outages to their respective utility company which is responsible for the operation of these street light fixtures. Visit our street light outage page for details on where to report outages.

Digging in Brambleton? - Homeowners should contact Miss Utility of Virginia by calling 811 or 1-800-552-7001 at least 3 business days before beginning any digging project. Remember, even if your project is small, it’s always best to call this free service! For additional information on digging safely, visit www.va811.com.

Winwood Fall Festival - Winwood Children’s Center invites you to their Fall Festival on Saturday, October 19th from 1 to 4 PM. Enjoy food, a petting zoo, crafts, and more! Kids are welcome to wear their Halloween costumes as well.

Arcola VFD Open House - Come out for the annual Arcola Volunteer Fire Department Open House on Sunday, October 20th! This event takes place from 1 to 4 PM at the Brambleton Safety Center. Blasting Operations in Section 23B - Blasting operations are currently underway in Section 23B and may be felt at times by residents living in this and surrounding sections.

Costa Family and Cosmetic Dentistry - Will you help Costa Dentistry stand up to cancer? North Parking Garage Restoration Work - Restoration work in the Brambleton Town Center North Parking Garage is currently underway and will be completed in the first week of December. The project will be done in phases to reduce impact to parking spaces. Day work will be performed from 8 AM to 5 PM, and night work will be performed from 9 PM to 6:30 AM.


COUNTY CORNER

Prescription Drug Take Back Day - The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with the Drug Enforcement Administration for their “Take-Back” initiative. Loudoun County residents can discard potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs on Saturday, October 26th from 10 AM to 2 PM at six county sites, including the Dulles South Public Safety Center. LCSO Warns of Money Card Scams - As scammers are increasingly fraudulently obtaining money from victims through money cards, the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is reaching out to residents and local businesses to help educate the community and reduce the number of victims of fraud.
